Metal roof of an office and residential building, Munich, Germany
– roof insulation and protection (2019)

The owner of the building was interested in insulating the tin roof and protecting it especially from overheating from solar radiation. On the upper floor of the building (under the tin roof) there are offices, where the interior temperature in the summer reached up to 30 °C. The heated sheet metal acted as a huge heat source, or rather. heat emitter.

As a solution, ALMA PROJEKTMANAGEMENT GmbH proposed the use of ADITIZOL BASIC in a thickness of 2 mm, which will ensure the insulation and protection of the roof throughout the year.

Preparation of the substrate:

Before applying ADITIZOL, it was necessary to prepare the substrate. The roof surface was cleaned and degreased, and the parts and elements of the roof that should not have been sprayed were secured with a protective film. The base paint was then applied to the sheet metal.

Application with ADITIZOL BASIC:

After preparation of the substrate, ADITIZOL BASIC was applied in individual layers (according to the manufacturer’s application instructions) with a total thickness of 2 mm.

Conclusion:

After the application of ADITIZOL BASIC, the surface temperature on the sheet metal roof was immediately reduced, resulting in a reduction of more than 6 °C in the office interior.

The condition of the roof has not changed since the application. The material is intact and undamaged, temperature fluctuations have not caused any changes to it.
